Mid-February, 2020, first colored gem-quality rough diamond weighing 17.44 carats was mined by PJSC ALROSA at Zapolyarnaya kimberlite pipe, which is the part of the Verkhne-Munskoye diamond deposit.
The gem sized 18x20x9 mm with a habit transitional between octahedron and dodecahedron.
Diamond was recovered by Bourevestnik reconcentration X-ray luminescence sorter LS-OD-50-03N, which is capable to retreat -50… +5 mm diamond bearing concentrate with throughput up to 2,5 tph and ensuring 99% recovery rate.
